"I Made Christmas!"

Cade came to me the other day and said,

"Look Mommy, I Made Christmas!"

He plugged in the Christmas tree lights and garland on the stairs. He wants the credit for putting up all the decorations. Oh well, I guess he can have it. :)

One good game...

Just a Few Essential Cuddling Items...Alarm Clock, Flashlight...and a Hanger??

We all realize Cade is quite a character, right? Here's just one more thing to add to the list! Cade has recently switched out of his crib (sob) and into a "big boy bed". He has adjusted fairly well to this new change. However he does have his moments. So like the good parent I am, I bribe him to stay in bed. Long story short I bought him a flashlight so he could use it in his "dark" room. This, along with his portable alarm clock with an indiglo light are his cuddling must haves before he can fall asleep. And when I say cuddle I mean when I go to check on him he is clutching them like a normal child would cuddle a soft teddy bear.

The nightly routine is that I usually go check on him and turn his flashlight off and set that and the clock on the floor or at the foot of the bed so he can reach it in the middle of the night. (YES, he calls out "clock!" or "flashlight" in his sleep if he loses grasp of it) So then I readjust his blankets and tuck them into the sides so he doesn't fall out of the bed.

A few nights ago as I was doing this I felt something hard in the blankets. A wire hanger.

??????????????????

Number one: Where did he get it?

Number two: Why did he make it yet another "snuggly toy" when he already has two non-"snuggly" toys?

Oh well. Can't wait to see what else ends up in his bed. Perhaps a screwdriver? or a spatula?

ARRR MATEY!

Cade loved being a pirate for Halloween this year. He loves to sing, "YO HO YO HO a Pirate's like a me!" haha he almost got it right! He walked from house to house with his bag open at all times. Ready in case candy fell from the sky!

Aunt Suz, Haley (hannah montana) Raegan (witch) Cade, Uncle Andy (Mr. Incredible) and Alyssa (one cute little princess)

Once Upon A Time...

There were two dogs...Sadie and Duke.

They were spoiled little dogs. They got to sleep on their beds in mom and dad's room.

Then one day, mom got sick of them in their room. They snored, dreamed, farted and licked all through the night. And she couldn't sleep. So she gave them their own room upstairs. (She thought that was a pretty nice thing to do) She thought it would solve all the problems.

But she was wrong. These spoiled dogs couldn't bear to sleep in another room. Instead they found other places in the house to sleep:

The couch. (which is a NO NO)Right outside our bedroom door, (and whine)

On my nice pillows, sorry the pic wouldn't rotate

At the bottom of the stairs,

And then they would push their way into our room and when mom or dad would open our eyes in the middle of the night this is what they would see:
They would bark at things out the window, play fight in the family room and in Cades room, eat their food, then barf it up. They were lost little souls without their beds being in mom and dad's room.
And alas... the beds lay empty upstairs in their own palace. And mom and dad have more sleepless nights than before.
And they have not (yet) lived happily ever after.

A Great Way to Spend a Birthday!

We took a little family trip last week to California. We had such a good time! We spent a few days in Encinitas with Joe's aunt Susie and cousin Lindsey and went to the beach. (and ate VG's donuts, of course!) Tuesday was Joe's birthday and mine was Thursday so we spent those days at Disneyland. We also stayed with the Comstocks. AND went to H&M, another vital part of the trip. We had a blast in the hot weather!

Swimmin with Aunt Susie

Chillin at Moonlight Beach

Cade found a sand dollar!

This is a picture of Cade bossing us around all day about where to go.

We went to Disney with the Burr's the first day. Eli and Cade...two peas in a pod. Except when Eli fell into the bushes. I'm still laughing about that one. And thanks again to Adam for braving Disney for the day with us. :)

Notice Joe's Happy Birthday pin. He wore it with pride!

Cade's favorite ride. Dumbo. Probably rode it about 20 times.

Can't NOT get your picture taken in front of a "tray"

Can't NOT sit in the Engine and talk to the "tray" drivers!
